Blanket Statement turns the photographs people actually care about into woven cotton blankets. Your picture is built out of thread on a jacquard loom in the USA, so the image is the cloth itself and it stays there for as long as the blanket does.

How it is made

Your photo becomes thread.

A jacquard loom raises and lowers individual cotton threads one row at a time. We translate your photograph into instructions for that loom, drawing on our own 147 woven colours to match the tones in your picture. What you see on the finished blanket is the weave itself.

Because the colour lives in the yarn, there is no layer on the surface to fade, crack or peel. You can wash it, haul it to the couch, take it camping, and the picture ages the way cotton ages.

It also behaves the way a blanket should. 100% cotton carries weight, breathes in summer, and gets softer every trip through the wash.

A blanket is already an intimate object. It shows up at birthdays, new homes, new babies, long recoveries and quiet evenings, and it ends up on the couch of someone you love. Something that carries that much meaning is worth making properly.

Every blanket is woven after you order it. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for a buyer, and no two come off the loom alike, because no two people upload the same photograph.

Our process

From upload to doorstep.

You upload a photo and crop it in the designer, which shows you a woven preview built from the same 147 colours the loom uses. If the resolution is low for the size you picked, the designer says so before you buy. Resolution is only half of it though. Contrast and clarity matter just as much, and those are judgements only you can make about your own picture.

Once you order, your cropped file goes straight to the loom, and the blanket is woven to size with fringed edges on all four sides. It is made in the USA and ships to you in about a week.
